文理学院

The mission of the 文理学院 is to nurture the mind and spirit of its graduate and undergraduate students and to develop and refine students’ spoken, 写, 以及分析能力, their artistic and creative talents, and their knowledge of the 人文学科 and the 社会和行为科学, and the ways in which technology can be used to advance their capacity to understand world events, 成功参与全球竞争, and contribute to improvements in the human condition.

文理学院: The Foundation of Excellence

The 文理学院 (CLA) at 澳门皇冠体育 promotes and supports significant research, 创新奖学金, and creative expression in the arts, 人文学科, 社会和行为科学. By offering a rich array of undergraduate and select graduate 项目, the CLA provides a diverse and engaged student body with an outstanding education founded on nurturing relationships between students and distinguished faculty. 我们的学科, 项目, interdisciplinary centers and institutes strive to cultivate skills in research and analysis, 书面和口头沟通, 批判性思维, 以及视觉素养, as well as encourage a commitment to service to the city of Jackson and the global community.

Other special units which enhance and advance curricular offerings in the College are Interdisciplinary Alcohol/Drug Studies Center, 玛格丽特·沃克中心, 理查德·赖特写作中心, 修辞, 和研究, Applied Psychological Services Program and Community Health Program.

学位授予

The 文理学院 offers the following degrees: (1) Bachelor of Arts, (2)理学学士学位, (3)音乐学士, and (4) Bachelor of 音乐 Education, (5)文学硕士, (6)教育学硕士学位, (7)理学硕士,  音乐教育硕士学位, (9) Master of 公共政策与行政, and (10) Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical 心理学 or a Doctor of Philosophy in 公共政策与行政.

学科认证

Undergraduate academic 项目 in the 文理学院 are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, the National Association of Schools of 音乐, and the National Council of Teachers of 英语/National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The Master’s in 公共政策与行政 is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Administration. The doctoral program in clinical psychology, accredited by the American Psychological Association, is one of only two doctoral clinical psychology 项目 accredited at a historically black college/university.
